Senior Peer Counseling

Our Mission is to provide companionship and counseling to seniors in their homes and at senior centers.

Classes starting soon!

WHO WE SERVE

Senior Peer Counselors and Friendly Visitors are proud to serve Lake County seniors regardless of religion or no religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sex, national origin, financial means, education, or politics.

Seniors 55 plus may qualify for our free and confidential services.

Any senior in need who may benefit from this program will be provided a volunteer counselor, regardless of income.

We offer weekly visits to your home or local Senior Center.

Anyone can make a referral for themselves, a friend, a neighbor or family member.

Volunteer counselors are trained to listen to their clients and help them find their own solutions.

ABOUT OUR COUNSELORS

Our Senior Peer Counselors are volunteers 55+ who are selected for their ability to listen, be compassionate and have an interest in seniors' issues.

* Please note: To avoid confusion or fear from a stranger's call, it is best to alert the referred senior first.

Senior Peer Counseling helps with your worries and concerns.

During the free, weekly visit, counselors provide confidential peer counseling, information regarding resources such as food banks, care giving, housing, and transportation, etc.

Counselors receive training from our Program Manager who makes the initial home visit to assess client needs and match elders and counselors.

To Refer Yourself or Someone who may benefit:

Simply call (707) 995-1417 with the senior's name and contact information, or email us at lcspc@att.net

• Please tell the person that we will be calling to schedule an Intake Interview.

• The Konocti Senior Support Program Manager schedules and completes the in-home intake session.

• After the Intake session, if the program is a good match, the assigned Senior Peer Counselor will call to schedule the first weekly meeting.
